Cycles
There are many styles of cycles, form usually following function.
City Bikes
For short haul commuter journeys, often with mudguards, chainguard, skirtguard, lights and luggage facilities. Comfortable riding upright machines.

Leisure/Tour Bikes
Often used as an all round vehicle, for both commuter and weekend tour rides. Lighter than the city bike with more gears and more sparkle in the ride. We're also including touring cycles in this class, for distance commuting or that World Tour!

Folding Bikes
Take on the train, store in the bedroom, carry on your boat or private plane, pack into a suitcase. Many uses, great fun.

Mountain Bikes
For off road use, usually with front or full suspension. Racing, fun riding and explorer use. Can also make a tough commuter or tourer, though fitting full mudguards is often difficult.

Race Bikes
For race or more often exercise, leisure, fast riding, the sort of bike that gives you that adrenaline buzz. Drop and straight bar types listed.

Children's Bikes

Cycle types
Cycles can broadly be catagorized as follows:
Ladies or gents, mudguards, rack, derailleur or hub gears.
May have drop bars or straight, longer lower ride position, may have mudguards and rack.
Broad range used just for short hop or long leisure rides.
Full suspension or hard tail, not good with baskets or mudguards !
